THE CHURCH JOPLIN

We have existed in Joplin since 2005. Recently we have went through an intentional season of RESET. After many years of building a successful ministry with upwards of 300 people, we had a shocking realization that we had indeed built a church, but it did not look like The Church in Acts. We are not talking about protocol or ministries, but about purpose. We took a hard look at what we had accomplished and realized that we needed to get back to the roots of Christ Church.

All the believers devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching, and to fellowship, and to sharing in meals (including the Lord’s Supper), and to prayer.

43A deep sense of awe came over them all, and the apostles performed many miraculous signs and wonders. 44And all the believers met together in one place and shared everything they had. 45They sold their property and possessions and shared the money with those in need. 46They worshiped together at the Temple each day, met in homes for the Lord’s Supper, and shared their meals with great joy and generosity— 47all the while praising God and enjoying the goodwill of all the people. And each day the Lord added to their fellowship those who were being saved. Acts 2:41-47

It is our desire to MAKE DISCIPLES that will be devoted to BIBLE DOCTRINE, through preaching and teaching. through FELLOWSHIP, doing Kingdom business together, through SHARING MEALS together, or hanging out socially with each other, and Reinstituting the Sacred Act of COMMUNION. In so doing it is our VSION to Win Our World, through building rerlationships with Christ and those in this body of Christ who have embraced THE MISSION.

Our Story

Easter 2005 we began our new ministry as Oasis Worship Center. Through the years we have been in many locations:Sergeant street in a house, Maiden Lane, Gateway Drive, Rex Street, Zora and Newman Road, and currently meeting at Zora.

Pastor and his family moved from Turlock California where they served as Sr Associate Pastors at Faith Temple Church under their Father, The late Lowell and Loretta Finney. The original vision was simple, Love God, Love People.

2004 to the present day has been an incredible journey with many challenges and yet many victories, but we truly believe that "The Best Is Yet To Come"
